sunny july.

July is already here and my baby is one today! This might have been the fastest year of my life. I love this month because in Minnesota, it means summer is officially here! I love the hot, lazy summer days. Here are our plans for fun!

Watch the fireworks. We skipped last year because Lily was a few days old, but this year I’m excited to celebrate the 4th with fireworks and fun. We usually go to the Stone Arch Bridge to watch in Minneapolis, but this year we’re with family in Tennessee so it’ll be fun to see a new show.

Fire up the grill. And keep the kitchen cool! I’m planning to try some new recipes in the next couple weeks.

Read a book. I have a really hard time finishing books these days. Sitting outside while the kids play is the perfect time to catch up on reading! Any favorite summer reads? Send them my way!

Make a summer dessert. Peach cobbler, blueberry crisp, ice cream cake…

Go swimming. We live in the land of 10,000 lakes so a beach is never far away! We also have kiddie pools in most Minneapolis parks so we swim often when it’s hot. Grab your floaties and head to the beach or pool for a morning of fun!

Make popsicles. We like to puree fruit in the blender and freeze it in popsicle molds. Watermelon, kiwi, and peach are especially summery.

Take family portraits. I ALWAYS say we’re going to do this and then we never do, but now we have a tripod so I’m going to make it happen! We have very few photos of all four of us and someday I’m going to want them!

Pick wildflowers. My favorite kind of bouquet is wild and mismatched. Just make sure they truly don’t belong to anyone!

Declutter your home. We’re getting ready to move to a smaller place and I’m realizing that although I’ve made regular decluttering a habit we still have SO MUCH. I need to get into gear so we don’t get overwhelmed when it’s time to unpack.

Roast marshmallows. And make s’mores around a campfire!

How are you planning to make the most of July? Let me know on instagram or below!
